Intermediate UX/UI Designer at Datonomy Solutions
Datonomy Solutions is seeking a talented and collaborative Intermediate UX/UI Designer to join an enterprise design team based in Sandton. This contract role operates within the fast-paced financial services and banking sector, focusing on delivering intuitive, user-centered digital experiences that balance customer needs with core business objectives.
Working closely with senior designers and cross-functional stakeholders, you will be responsible for managing design activities within established frameworks. From initial concept to validated solutions, you will play a key role in ensuring our digital products are both functional and visually compelling.
Key Responsibilities
UX/UI & Interaction Design
- Create comprehensive design artifacts, including UI layouts, wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, high-level storyboards, and user flows.
- Translate complex business requirements into intuitive digital experiences.
- Develop detailed design specifications and documentation.
- Maintain and contribute to existing design systems, ensuring all work adheres to brand standards and UX principles.
User Research & Testing
- Conduct best-practice research to identify customer behaviors, pain points, and emerging industry trends in digital design and interaction.
- Design and execute user testing parameters to evaluate the effectiveness of your designs.
- Utilize research findings and feedback to iteratively improve product usability.
- Perform competitor research to inform design recommendations and strategy.
Business & Customer Alignment
- Align innovative design solutions with project scopes, business goals, and UX metrics.
- Advocate for the end-user throughout the entire development lifecycle.
- Balance technical constraints with commercial objectives to deliver meaningful value.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Present design thinking and research findings clearly to gain alignment across product and technology teams.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless design implementation.
- Manage design deliverables effectively to meet agreed-upon project timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the following areas:
- Extensive experience in UX/UI design, interaction design, and user-centered design principles.
- Proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, and mapping user journeys.
- Practical experience with user research and usability testing methodologies.
- A strong understanding of design systems and responsive digital interface design.
- Experience with modern design and prototyping tools, such as Figma or equivalent platforms.
- Strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications
A relevant qualification in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Digital Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related discipline is highly advantageous.
