Junior Systems Implementation Specialist (JHB Hybrid)
Datafin is looking for an ambitious and technically minded individual to join our team in Germiston as a Junior Systems Implementation Specialist (JHB Hybrid). In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the delivery, adoption, and ongoing effectiveness of our insurance administration systems. You will work closely with the Implementation Specialist Team Leader, contributing to system releases, user training, and direct support for our field agents. Responsibilities
Release Testing & Deployment Support
- Assist the testing team with Functional, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles under senior supervision.
- Document and communicate defects or unexpected system behaviors encountered during testing.
- Provide support during system release deployments, which includes learning smoke-testing practices and participating in occasional after-hours activities.
Training Support
- Help prepare and maintain comprehensive training materials for internal staff and the field agent network.
- Support the delivery of training sessions with the goal of eventually leading these sessions independently.
- Ensure that all training documentation remains aligned with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recent system changes.
Field Agent & User Support
- Serve as a point of contact for routine system and product queries from field agents and internal users, escalating complex issues to the Senior Specialist as needed.
- Develop a thorough understanding of our funeral insurance offerings, including processing requirements, rules, and benefits.
- Log recurring issues and feedback trends to assist in the continuous improvement of our systems and training programs.
Post-Release & Disaster Recovery Support
- Assist with post-release support tasks, including the triaging of user-reported issues and tracking them through to resolution.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) testing activities, including assisting with user coordination and documenting project outcomes.
Requirements
Qualifications
- A relevant Degree or Diploma in Information Systems, IT, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience & Skills
- 0 to 2 years of experience in systems support, testing, insurance administration, or a similar operational role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with high attention to detail.
- The ability to learn new business software systems quickly.
- Flexibility to work occasional after-hours during system releases.
Advantageous
- Previous exposure to the insurance industry, particularly within funeral or life insurance.
- Prior experience with software testing or UAT processes.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Experience in developing or delivering training content.
